2/2/2020 - Former LSU great Stromile Swift announced he will join Coach Will Wade when the 2020 Boot Tour rolls into Shreveport on Saturday, July 18, 2020.
The Shreveport native will assist Coach Wade and other LSU Basketball staff members and players at the Boot Tour youth camp on Saturday, July 18. The basketball camp will be held at the BHP Bilton YMCA, located at 3455 Knight Street, Shreveport, LA.
The camp will be held from 9 am to Noon and is open to boys and girls Grades K-6. Space is limited.
The camps offer a unique opportunity for Tiger basketball fans to learn from and interact with Coach Wade and available LSU coaching staff and players. The camps allow participants to learn the game of basketball through a fundamental intensive learning environment. Individuals also have the chance to learn more about the game, including the introduction of drills that can be used at home.
A 1997 graduate of Shreveport's Fair Park High School, Swift was rated the top forward in the nation when he signed with John Brady's Tigers. He led LSU to an SEC Championship in 2000 and into the NCAA Sweet 16.
A consensus All-American and the SEC Player of the Year in 2000, Swift was taken with the second overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft by the Vancouver Grizzlies.
Swift enjoyed a 10-year NBA career playing for the Vancouver/Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, New Jersey Nets and Phoenix Suns.
